Tucson Custom Home Design: portfolio
Sullins Residence

The Sullins residence was designed to optimize the city views of their lot, as well as maximize the constraints of their restrictive building envelope. Located on a beautiful hilltop in east Tucson, the Sullin’s lot had an irregular shape. The design needed to fit the lot’s setbacks aswell as the steep hillside adjacent to the home.

The Sullins began the design process with a good idea of what they wanted their home to look like. The main challenge was to design a home that would be both beautiful and that could be built economically without extensive engineering and expensive retaining walls.

The design of the Sullins Residence involved multiple visits to the proposed building site to
ensure the house was positioned and dimensioned to take advantage of views while staying within the strict building limits. Multiple trips to Pima County Development Services was also necessary to research the constraints of the building envelope.

After many meetings with the clients to fine tune the layout and design, we completed the design and successful application for a building permit. The end result was a home design that could be built both economically and with very high quality.
